With 2023 coming to an end, there are many things to look back on and be proud of – as an organization and as Canada’s largest retailer. We’ve made some transformational changes and have been recognized for our work and impact in the DEI and ESG space, all with the overarching goal of helping Canadians Live Life Well.
With that, here are 7 stats about Loblaw you may have missed:
At the end of Q3 2023, 39% of executive positions were held by women. This is a 5% increase since setting representation goals in 2020.
We’ve been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Diversity Employers for 15 consecutive years.
At the end of Q3 2023 $8.4 million was donated by the Shoppers Foundation for Women’s Health in 2023 to support the health of women.
At the end of Q3 2023, more than $17 million has been raised and donated to PC Children’s Charity in support of the health of children with a target to help feed 1 million kids a year by 2025.
The Loblaw Scholarship Program offered 200 scholarships of $2,000 each to successful applicants.
We have also partnered with Indspire’s Building Brighter Futures scholarship program and donated $50,000 to fund 10 scholarships for Indigenous students for the 2022-2023 academic year as part of our company’s commitment to reconciliation.
We have opened 13 new stores and converted 27 stores in 2023.
