Healthcare’s big 3 for 2024

Our top priority is helping Canadians live life well® and to achieve that, we aim to provide them with as many opportunities as possible to do so. Whether it’s expanding pharmacy services to treat and prescribe for minor ailments, or the ability to conveniently refill a prescription through an app on their mobile device, we invest in truly making a difference to positively impact their day-to-day.

This year, we’ve celebrated some major milestones, some of which are highlighted below in our top healthcare stories of 2024.

  1. Eliminating period poverty, one community at a time – In many communities across Canada, access to menstrual products and education is limited, or in some cases non-existent. This can mean missing school or work, and other important life events, just because you have your period. This is why the Shoppers Foundation for Women’s HealthTM partners with likeminded organizations that are committed to providing equitable access to period products and achieving menstrual equity for all.

  2. Gord celebrates six decades with Shoppers Drug Mart – As much as we focus on helping others, it’s also important to acknowledge those who help us out too. Like Gord Forbes – a Shoppers Drug Mart veteran, that’s been with the organization for 62 years. THE definition of a real OG! His passion for retail and willingness to embrace change is incredible because he has seen it all. Stories like this reinforce that this is not only a great place to work, but a great place to thrive and build a career doing what you love.

  3. Changing the way Canadians access care – Change is good right? Especially when it comes to providing new and convenient ways to access healthcare. Pharmacy Care Clinics are making a real difference in the lives of Canadians, creating a professional and private space for pharmacists to assess and treat patients. Some of the newest clinic formats feature a child-friendly space with vibrant colours and interactive games, a new dispensary layout and a care concierge to guide patients through their clinic visit. We couldn’t be more excited about the positive impact these clinics are having on their communities.
