BRAMPTON, ON, July 12, 2017 /CNW/ - Out of an abundance of caution, Loblaw Companies Limited is recalling select packages of President's Choice^® Pub Recipe^TM Chicken Nuggets with the best before code "2018 MR 15" and UPC 060383131715 sold before July 13, 2017 since they may pose a risk to consumers if improperly prepared. Improper handling and preparation of these and any other raw chicken products could expose consumers to salmonella.

According to Health Canada, the risk of contracting salmonella can be avoided if safe food handling, preparation and cooking practices are followed. All consumers are advised to properly follow cooking instructions on food packaging and cook frozen raw, breaded chicken products to a safe internal temperature of at least 74°C (165°F).

The products were sold at the following locations:

Ontario: Fortinos^®, Loblaws^®, No Frills^®, Real Canadian Superstore^®, valu-mart^®, Your Independent Grocer^®, Zehrs^®, Wholesale Club^®, Shoppers Drug Mart^® and affiliated independent stores

Atlantic: Atlantic Superstore^®, Dominion^®, Your Independent Grocer^®, Wholesale Club^®, Shoppers Drug Mart^® and affiliated independent stores

Québec: Maxi^®, Maxi & Cie^®, Provigo^®, Provigo le Marché^®, AXEP^®, Pharmaprix^® and Intermarché^®

West: Extra Foods ^®, No Frills^®, Real Canadian Superstore^®, Wholesale Club^®, Your Independent Grocer^®, Shoppers Drug Mart^® and affiliated independent stores

All affected products have been removed from store shelves. Customers can return the product to any store where President's Choice^® products are sold and the customer service desk will provide a full refund, with or without a receipt.
