We’re always looking for ways to save a little more, especially after the holidays. Last year, our customers across Canada saved more than $50 million by shopping with the Flashfood app.

Available at more than 850 Loblaw grocery stores from coast to coast, Flashfood is a digital marketplace where you can snag incredible deals on every day essentials nearing its best-by-date at up to 50% off. Think mountains of fresh produce, delicious dairy, quality meats, and pantry staples, all deeply discounted.

“That’s real value back in the pockets of Canadian families as our customers continue to look for more ways to save,” explained Jonathan Carroll, SVP, Superstore Operations and lead for Loblaw’s food waste reduction initiatives. “Last year alone, customers purchased more than 900,000 boxes of fresh produce at our stores through the Flashfood app.”

Since launching at Maxi in 2019 following a successful pilot program in Ontario, customers have saved more than $238 million by using the Flashfood app.

And while we love the value the Flashfood app delivers, we especially love how it is helping us move closer to our goal of zero food waste to landfill by 2030.

Over the past five years, we have diverted nearly 86 million pounds of potential food waste from landfills through the Flashfood program.

It's a win-win for shoppers and the environment!

So, what are you waiting for? Download the Flashfood app, find a participating Loblaw store near you, browse the deals, and purchase directly through the app. Then, simply pick up your order from the designated Flashfood Zone in the store.

It's time to save and reduce food waste, one delicious deal at a time.
